fangirl confession time - this was one of the first fics I ever read and, even though I didn't get a lot of the context back then, it has stuck with me all these years and remained a favorite. the terrifying and beautiful imagery both of her near-drowning, the mental and emotional struggle they both endure after she's rescued, their coming together...all of it just resonates in the best ways. this is how J/C should have been. so glad you are posting here so i can come back and read it again :)
