I loved this so much!! And I’m cackling at the AN, I was 100% expecting him to at least have a spare under the doormat or something but the imagery of Katsuki, smug as all hell, arriving back to his condo without a key is sending me into oblivion sjdjjdkdhkddh this is what happens when you listen to the heart and not the mind, kacchan.
I loved your characterization of Izuku as well here too. Him holding onto the possibility of saving one person getting in the way of his and Katsuki’s personal safety was on the nose for his hero complex and self-sacrificial tendencies. No matter where they are or what they’re doing though, Izuku will always choose Katsuki when everything boils down to it.
LOL yes it was just a silly afterthought i added but your comment does remind me that he doesnt always think two steps ahead when it comes to izuku even in canon.
i love that you love how i wrote izuku. i was unsure if he came off the way i wanted him to considering that a lot of people might argue that there would be no question that he'd choose katsuki over the man, much less walk away, but i really wanted to show that hero complex interfering with his relationships and how reckless and blind he can get when he sets sight on a goal. the dying man definitely holds less priority than his best friend and deku was never going to abandon katsuki, its just that theyre both spiteful and stubborn with their own values to the point where they clash.
