    Oh yeah, no way he was letting anyone else get that close to her! She does trust his word when he gives it, yes, because he always keeps it. And he really didn't want to hurt her, so thank you for appreciating him trying his best to reassure her where and when he could!

That's exactly true, they're both cautious and can fear the other (as they should, both of them ARE dangerous), but they're also defiant and don't back down easily.
