Ohhhhh what a treasure trove of potential. Seeing Ray get custody of Miles was so cathartic! I'm so glad Mr. and Mrs. Wright and Butz and Badd helped; alone, he wouldn't have had a chance, being 19 and lowkey unemployed :((( And von Karma not even showing up! I understand it is because of his injury but it SO gives the wrong message (which obviously, is a very good thing :P) I love the way Phoenix and Larry tackled Miles when they saw him again. The poor boy needs all the support of his friends. I loved Ray's reaction to the nightmare - god it's so good to see him have a proper, compassionate reaction to little Miles's nightmare D'': The hearing was fantastic! I love that Miles deliberately played the jury's heartstrings, it's so good xD Poor Ms. von Karma senior. She doesn't even realise her childhood wasn't that stellar. The attorney is properly unpleasant.
I loved the scene with Mr. Master, and them bonding over young parenthood :) The funeral scene made me so sad! Poor Miles thinking he's a burden to Ray :((( I'm so glad they had this conversation. Their relationship is so wholesome and it make me so happy. <3 And it continues being wholesome in the next years! I love that teenage Miles stands in court with Ray because he's technically the boss xD And study date with Phoenix hehehehehe
And meeting Mia!! And deciding to solve DL-6!! I love that Miles still fears he's the culprit but he's so much less convinced of it than in canon. The idea of him going on to become a prosecutor and solving cases and working with Mia (and Phoenix) to solve DL-6 has so much potential!! Working together from across the courtroom, gathering information from all the sources they have to find the truth together... yesssss. This has sooo much potential I will be very intrigued if you decide to continue this, but it was already such a sweet, bittersweet but also mostly sweet, story! Thank you for writing and sharing :)
I do have ideas for this AU, unfortunately just a few scenes and nothing really concrete for now. My main headache is trying to fit Dahlia in all of this since in my head miles and phoenix get together during their first year of college (the combination of miles being less emotionally constipated thanks to Ray + everyone around them already assuming they're a couple will do that haha) so Dahlia is a big question mark but she's also too important to not be included in any ace attorney au :') so i guess we'll see for now!
