    Oh wow, I genuinely adore this idea and your execution of it, you did a really good job on keeping both these characters in character while putting them in a situation they'd never be in! I also really love when fics explore the future timeline in this way, the androids are smart, surely at some point, at least one of them thought about if they kill everyone, what's left to do?

    And Gohan, with not only his need to protect Earth and his loved ones but also with him already being in the limelight would be very easy for them to pick on. Not to mention the fact that Gohan is pretty much forced to go along with this. What is he gonna do? Fight back? I mean he could, but it obviously didn't work the first hundred times, so why would it now. He's backed into a horrible corner, grief and desperation make people do and agree to things they never would otherwise.

    It's also pretty depressing that when Seventeen isn't using Gohan's body and mind for entertainment in one way he's doing it in another. lmao

      So glad you like this execution! The androids are interesting in their approach. I feel like different sources suggest different drivers for them in terms of the 'exterminate everyone' issue, even in English vs Japanese audio but also in the anime vs the movie. So it's fun getting to pull on different threads of that for this.

      Gohan is definitely in a difficult position throughout the entire future timeline. He can't win, but he can't stop fighting. I wanted to really pull into that choice-that-isn't-a-choice situation here where here, he could end the deal, just like he could stop fighting, but it's something he couldn't ever stomach morally. And that whole thing leads to a funny equivalence between the combat and the deal, for both Seventeen and Gohan, where Seventeen is enjoying a low stakes game, same as the combat, while Gohan's just enduring a nightmare with the highest stakes imaginable, which is also the same as his experience with the combat.
