Comment on Inspiration: The Muse

  1. Oh I absolutely love that all these idiots are so human I just want to weep with their poor communication skills that just keep digging them further into trouble with each other! LOL There are so many layers to each character - each character has history they haven't shared yet that would no doubt clarify just how broken they all are and how much they need to talk things through without interruptions or distractions and derailments. Emma would beat them all, I think. Well, maybe not Tony, since that would likely distract him from his own nonsense. Heh.

Scott has just as many things he's keeping tight-lipped about, though he's a little more easy to share with Steve so that Steve understands why he's coming from where he is. But Scott is also young enough that he hasn't been entirely conditioned to hold his emotions in to himself where he becomes emotionally constipated. He wants answers that only Steve can give him, and Steve doesn't know how to answer those questions - I feel like Steve maybe feels like some of Scott's questions are "too advanced" for where they're at in the relationship, according to Steve's plans for that relationship - like, well, you're not cleared for that information yet because it'll just upset you. Well, it'll upset him later, too.

I can get that Steve wants to keep things secret while they're figuring it out, but like Tony's one of his best friends, and he knows Tony's insecurities and he knows Scott's insecurities (esp the ones that stem from Jean and Warren), and he's not seeing that if MAYBE he let Tony in on it and said, "We're still figuring this out, so maybe don't tell everyone - or anyone just for now," Tony would a) be cool with it and understand and b) feel special that Steve confided in him about something he's not telling anyone else about. And Scott wouldn't feel like Steve was trying to hide him and he might feel like he could trust Tony more.

Tony will definitely get his eye-opening experience that will knock him on his butt with Bucky, and that's a good thing! It seems like ultimately Steve and Tony will be getting most what they want and more than that what they need in Scott and Bucky, and I can see why Scott would not like Bucky being around for a while - he'll be too busy comparing himself to Bucky, especially where Steve's reactions are concerned, and that's going to send him on some negative self-esteem trips, I think. Ultimately, it'll work out. Something tells me that Scott and Bucky will end up having to work together on something and find the common ground between them without Steve involved in it to muddy the waters.

I'm about to dive into the next chapter! Woooo!

    1. I think I love the complexity that comes along with the whole aspect of being human and being messy with their poor communication skills because it opens the door for growth and learning and facing a deeper understanding of not only each other but themselves along the way. LOL yeah Emma would be beyond frustrated and probably ask Loki how he tolerated all of that craziness in his time with Tony/Steve lol.

Absolutely neither Scott nor Steve are open books about everything and yeah Scott's working to try to sort it out and coming to a place where he wants to learn and consider what's ahead of him, taking the time to really immerse himself in what it is he wants and what Steve's looking for as well. I think that once they start communicating more openly with one another it'll bring them closer. I do agree that Steve's kind of tiptoeing around things not really sure how to present certain aspects of things because it's been a long time since he's felt someone like Scott influencing his life and while he's excited, I think he's also a bit terrified. I think he really doesn't want to blow things and that's making it even more difficult.

I agree that if Steve talked to Tony about it that Tony would be supportive of things and technically without hopping into it here, in the Tony/Bucky one Steve was at that point about to open up and reveal his relationship status and maybe even ask Tony for advice on the subject, but then the Winter Soldier struck and boom it was total chaos, but yeah I agree Steve needs to be better about communicating all around. So much drama lol Thanks again for being so supportive of it all.
