Comment on The Other One

  1. Wait, I'm confused...maybe I need to read this whole thing again...I know you wrote about Sherrinford and John being at Sandhurst at the same time....so Sherrinford sees John and thinks, "Hey! This guy is a good match for my little sister, let's set them up in five years!" ???? Did Sherlock already know about John? Cuz that's what it sounded like at one point...okay, I'm gonna read this again, cuz I think I might've not understood something...I'm just gonna blame my confusion on lack of sleep....

    1. Yes, she knew. Remember, Father Holmes tells John that she found Mycroft's file on John five years ago. Sherringford laid the tracks so that Mycroft would think that **he** had met John first, but Sherringford is just as masterful as his siblings.

She knew. Sherringford gets to know John and thinks, "Hm. I'm going to watch you. You remind me of my sister. I think you might be the only people who could understand each other." But of course, he wanted Sherlock's consent first, so the file that Mycroft made was placed out by Sherringford for her to find and evaluate.

And then when she finally meets John, she's like, "This is not...not...what I expected." Remember, she tells him that he's messed up her mind palace seven times in one car ride? What she's saying is that she's actually falling for him. She'd never admit it, but she was a bit in love with him from afar, and never expected to actually get along with him.
