    Do you know what I find interesting Jesse? I like this concept of redemption you seem to have Velvette considering in the context of herself and her boys. Do I mean redemption in the sense of being a better person on a whole? Nope. I think that while Velvette is definitely becoming more emphatic, and more self aware…well more caring actually, of how her own actions effect others, she doesn’t seem to actually want to be a “good person”.

    She wants to be a good partner.

    I like the idea of redemption in, how do you redeem yourself in the face of the pain you caused those you loved. Redemption is not the same as forgiveness, it’s moving forward to be a better person, a better partner despite the fact you may never be forgiven. Because you want to be a better partner because you love someone so much that knowing you are a better person for their sake is all that matters. You know that saying, where it’s better to date a villain than a hero? The one that goes a hero will give you up to save the world, whereas a villain will let the world burn to keep you safe? Well that’s what Velvette and Vox look like to me here. They’re villains who will let the world burn to keep their loved ones safe…and their loved ones are unfortunately, their worlds. Their partners’ freedom is something they’re willing to sacrifice for their safety it seems, no matter how sick it clearly makes them.

    Valentino is physically abusive.
    Vox is verbally abusive.
    And Velvette is deciding whether to be mentally abusive in the most literal form of the word.

    I love the Vees and I love their dynamic, I just want them to be happy together and in love. And if that’s what you have in mind for them in the end, then brilliant! But dear god am I curious to see what they’ll sacrifice in the end to do it.

    Is it better for them to be happy together…or alone?

      This is such an interesting perspective on the plot. You're dead on the money about Velvette becoming more empathetic and more self-aware... even if she's still very much 'That #Bitch'. Though I would describe her desires less as wanting to be a good partner, and more that she just wants her 'happily ever after' with the men she just can't seem to stop loving...
