The divorse/separation indeed has certain interesting parts -largely due to the ambiquity of the reasons (plural) that gives people room to imagine and build upon.
On that, at the end of ep.8 Lilith was shown canonically to have made a deal with Adam and to reside in secluded, private, part of Heaven in light and somewhat revealing summer clothes.
I draw my own conclusions as to what Adam A) asked & B) hoped from the deal
Jumping back to this AU line you are crafting:
I personally find the Theory that Sera and Lucifer/Samael were a thing and Emily is their daughter to be highly intriguing and promising. With Sera keeping Emily's parentage hidden to shield both herself and Emily from the backlash were it to come known.
...and that Lilith found out which led to major fight and separation/divorse.
Could be Emily was conceived before the Fall, or Lucifer made a deal with Sera to help break Lilith's curse of infertility "An Life for Life" if you will.
An act of love that would hurt your loved one were it to be revealed to them in wrong situation and "From a Certain Point of View".
...Adam sure would not strike a deal with Lucifer, but Sera might, and be able to rationalize it as "Keeping Hell in Check" by depriving Hell it's King's fighing prowess
Hell, you could write Sera as becoming an Mother figure for Amiel being what finally snaps Lilith into reality as to how her actions lead to this.
My Cousin's oldest Child actually is in somewhat this sort of situation.
Half sister to two younger boys, but considering both her biological father and step father as parents.
I'll be stopping now before I rambme-write an whole plot script for you to slavishly follow.
