This is wonderful! I love Lena's emotionally distant narration, and the sense of Area X as this building, encompassing thing. I really love the 'everything that lives/everything that dies' pairing of Josie and Lena. And Lena's double just looking at her! I love ending on the "making what?" question and Lena repainting the house under the credits.
