I like this. I love the idea that Marcus liked Sejanus as children ( everyone should like Sejanus) and wanted for them to be friends. He did immediately take care of him when he got hurt . That shows both Marcus' desire to help Sejanus and his innate kindness.
Reaper played it tough in the book, but he actually spent his time taking care of sick Dill and he didn't kill anyone in the arena. Instead he made sure every dead child had a final resting place and treated their remains with respect. I think that him sitting next to Marcus and offering him a kind ear is within character
