I was about to look for articles and essays to use as a whip against that term...
("What a crude anachronism." "My priestesses are free women, not prostitutes.")
But those two phrases made me happy, you understand very good.
So far I can say that I don't have any buts, except Tomoe's implementation but for reasons that have nothing to do with this story so don't listen to me. Also I'm a confused by Kirei's behavior, I'm not trying to say that he's out of character but I'm curious about what kind of events made he become this particular version.
Tomoe's inclusion is itself purely personal preference on my part, so no hard feelings at all.
FGO's Rasputin/Kirei is an extremely compelling character to me; he's very much the same Kotomine Kirei we're familiar with, but he's made small but pivotal different choices in his life which make him act, at times, very differently from what we think he would. It's a ton of fun to play with that audience expectation. He addresses it himself (much) later in this fic, but FGO canonically doesn't give us much more to go on than what I've just said, and to say any more would undermine my own fun with that expectations card. I believe his in-game bio holds the key sentences if you're dying to know right away.
