Comment on The Sun's Most Beloved

  1. You are correct. Well done to notice that.
This is for Dewy who blocked me. First of all thank you for making Percy and Lelex Jackson brothers if I remember correctly as twins which I would like to continue and than with Psyche. I liked it. My only question that I would like an answer is how old was Crocus when his grandfather died. I didn't notice you mentioning that. Just that Hyacinthus heard of funeral or something like that and that both Hyacinthus and Smilax are same age while a year older than Hyacinthus and they meet when Hyacinthus went to camp with them. That’s all. Thank you.

    1. From my own reads, Crocus's grandfather died before Hyacinthus's fifteenth birthday, which was the age he was considered an adult man in Sparta.

      1. I'm pretty sure it was before but thank you.

      2. You were right. Hyacinthus was roughly 13 years old when Crocus's grandfather died. But I would like you to see my last to comments so you can tell me correct things. It seems like you are better on that then me.

After camp, I, Crocus, and Smilax returned to Sparta. Smilax, who was very good at reading people and detecting political machinations, became my unofficial advisor. Smilax’s father still wanted her to marry me, so we pretended it was a slight option until Crocus could gain enough power and status to be a suitable suitor for Smilax. This happened after Crocus’ grandfather died, and Crocus inherited everything. Crocus and Smilax became formally betrothed and were supposed to get married when Smilax turned eighteen. They were fourteen when they were betrothed. I know, very young, but that was how it was and we had to prevent Smilax father from selling her to the highest bidder. She and Crocus loved each other, and the most important thing was that Crocus respected her and he did believe in misogyny.
