    ...Just out of curiousity, where'd the Finnish surname (Pulkinen) come from?

    Also, thus far it's been a fun casefic, and the character conflict has felt natural. Looking forward to the rest.

      About the last name, it's a bit silly. Basically, I watch some figure skating during the year and I thought it could be fun to use the surnames of some actual skaters for my plot OCs, while changing the first name. So Pulkinen is one of them and Mayor Higuchi is another one. Real life Pulkinen is actually an American skater with a Finnish Dad and Higuchi is Japanese. But who knows, next time I could take inspiration from some actual Finnish skaters like Valtter Virtanen or Kiira Korpi? 😉

        Oh, that's a fun inspiration. (Virtanen would be a lot more mundane name than Pulkinen, but I guess they look about the same to someone not Finnish. 😄)

        A good casefic is surprisingly hard to find, I was pretty thrilled to stumble upon this one.
