Maybe if a trained assassin and someone with extremely enhanced senses, told the truth then they wouldn't be where they are now. Maybe their lives could have been better, happier, or even filled with more love? Or maybe they had just what they needed, maybe their lives had been the best, the happiest, and filled with as much love as possible. Maybe being together, and knowing the other person loved them was good enough. Or maybe it wasn't.
