This saga takes place over a few years, beginning when Elain departs from the Night Court as its Ambassador. The story progresses over two timelines. One is of the past vignettes, unveiling the buried stones that built her new life. The other is in the present, where Elain faces her shame to find her own strength and identity. This happens through the mystery of her unfolding power, and transformative encounters across the world. My Prythian and Mortal Lands are intentionally, thoroughly, explicitly, (not 'coded' or 'referenced' or 'accessorized' as) racially diverse -- inspired by real places and cultures. This non-cannon creation is full of flawed, growing characters. It explores power, and choices without full knowledge, and centers the lens of a soft-strong human into a staggeringly powerful, vast world. In this story, the only person who eventually knows everything... is Elain.
