Summary
Amy Blackthorne was the sister of the great rider Naolin, who gave his life to save Brennan Sorrengail, the love of his life. Naolin had been her world—someone she looked up to. Her foster brother had taken her in when she was just six years old, and he was the only family she had known. Without him, Amy found the world to be cruel and unforgiving, especially with her parents' identity known only to her and the command in Basgiath. Basgiath—where her best friend is going, and apparently she is going too.

Summary
Xaden Riorson just finished his first year at Basgiath War College. He's bonded to one of the most feared dragons in Navarre, and he's proven himself to be exceptionally powerful to his quadrant and command alike. Now, it's time for Year 2. Appointed section leader thanks to his efforts in War Games, Xaden will have to navigate new challenges in his second year as an official part of leadership, while secretly making plans behind the scenes, plans that will ensure that all of this, in the end, is worth it. Along the way, he has to navigate the renewed hatred of the new cadets, the prejudices of command, who will stop at nothing to try to break him, and the added stress of a new betrothal, something he wants nothing to do with, all while surviving the most brutal class in the Riders Quadrant.
A continuation of my series of Xaden's POV - Years 1-3, imagining the story of how our beloved wingleader came to be the person Violet meets in Fourth Wing. Many of the characters in this year will be familiar from Year 1, as we pick up where that left off, and this story contains multiple spoilers for Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I do not recommend reading Years 1 or 2 until both books have been completed.
