Summary
When the league arrives, she can’t look any of them in the eyes. She’s vaguely aware of Jimmy still recording, camera pointed at the cape, but she can’t force herself to look up. The familiar hum of the camera stops, and she breaks down all over again, stroking the blood and sweat soaked hair out of Clark’s face, willing him to just wake up damnit.
He doesn’t.
Lois stays there for what feels like hours, before she feels two hands on each of her shoulders, both calloused and worn. She looks to her left to see Batman, brooding as always, but with his mouth slightly open and the material around his eyebrows furrowed. On her right, Wonder Woman is there, wide eyes fixed on the bloodied corpse in her arms. She can feel the heartbreak from them both.
