Summary
Hythlodaeus, determined to not get Azem censured, would even go as far as to seduce the most eminent Emet-Selch to achieve his goals.
“Tell me, Hades, does it embarrass you? To feel this way, here and now? To want this?”
The sound of his name on his lips - spoken so softly, so intimately - was like a strike of flint against dry tinder, albeit accompanied by a mocking intention. It did embarrass him, the fact that Hythlodaeus was a tempest — capable of igniting an inferno within him, but also reducing him to a hollow husk. And still, he gave himself willingly to the lavender-eyed man.

Summary
Amid the Greatwood of Rak'tika, the Warrior of Darkness finds herself followed by Emet-Selch, claiming to test her worth which leads to conflict. Tension builds as hatred and desire blur.
Their battle stirs memories Emet-Selch thought long-buried — of love, loss, and a world forgotten.
“Tell me, Emet-Selch”, she began, her voice sharp and taunting, feeling her hands getting numb in his grip.
“Do you whisper her name to yourself in the dark? Pretend that she’s still with you? That she’d agree with the madness you’ve embraced?”
