Summary
MJ lives in a world where there are soulmates, a world where love is decided for her. Soulmates are paired at birth, and they are joined together by a bond that cannot be broken: when something is drawn on the skin of one soulmate, it appears on the other. Soulmates can have as much or as little to do with one another as they wish. Many couples choose to ignore the soulmate concept entirely, marrying and doing as they please outside of it-- however, there always will be a lingering question of "What if?"
This question sort of makes MJ want to throw up.
MJ wants nothing to do with soulmates. She wants to decide what to do for herself, and fate can go suck it if it thinks that it will control MJ for the rest of her life. But her soulmate has other ideas, and soon MJ will find herself torn between what she wants and what the universe has decided she needs.
