Summary
Minthara isn't an origin character. But what if she was? What if she started already in control and her path began like her recruitment. She awakens having failed to slaughter the grove and failing to find the Astral Prism. Trudging to Moonrise to be told how and why she is a disappointment, Minthara knows the only mercy she can expect is to die quickly. But then the same Tiefling who rendered her unconscious when she could have killed her pleads for her to not be outright killed.
No one's ever been in a position to offer her mercy before. Minthara never needed a savior before. But she'd never met someone like Karlach before. A woman who makes her feel something unselfish and kind for someone other than herself.
