Summary
“Hello, Mr. Byers,” cuts a woman’s voice, hard and aged, brutal in its clipped efficiency. Will’s eyes snap through the cage, looking beyond the glass to notice a short older woman, sharply dressed in her green fatigues, the stars on her lapel showing her advanced rank. She slowly steps around the edge of the cage, coming to stand next to a table full of vials and white plastic bottles of boldly labeled chemicals, her arms crossed over her chest. “Or would you prefer I called you William?”
Will knows better than to respond. Hopper said that they should hold out as long as they can in silence, that if they are ever about to break, that only when they feel like they can’t go on- they should give their most basic information; name, date of birth, eye color, height, weight. The things that the enemy most likely already knows. So he just blinks, just breathes slowly and deeply, just stands there. She seems to find that funny, as a soft huff escapes her, her eyebrow twitching.
Or: Will meets the real enemy, while the others scramble to save him.

Summary
Will pauses to catch his breath, leaning his weight against the rough bark of a tall pine, safely hidden beneath its branches. He puts his flashlight bulb-down to keep a faint glow in the air as he runs his hands through his hair and waits for his heart to calm down. He's nearly there, the lab just ahead through the trees and he's getting more and more excited the closer he gets. All he can think is Henry, Henry, Henry, and his stealth is suffering for it. Hopper would chastise him for the branches he's stomping over, the beds of dry leaves he's carelessly trampling through. But all he can think of is what's waiting for him over that fence, through that rift. Henry's blue eyes, his scarred arms, his smooth, deep voice that belies the danger his words hold.
After a few long moments of panting, Will huffs one last deep breath and straightens up, grabbing his flashlight back in hand, and pushes on, ducking out from under the pine boughs.
Or: Will is a rabbit caught in a trap.

Summary
“They're probably down there arguing. Debating whether or not they should let us be together…” Henry squeezes hard again, sweet agony licking up Will's entire front as he squeals through the waves of pleasure-pain, his teeth clenching.
“They are fools if they think they could ever keep me from you, William. You will never be rid of me. I'm changing, but I will never be like any of the little boys you've felt things for, do you hear me?” Henry grabs him by the collar of his shirt, shaking him roughly. Will whines, high and broken and emulating terror, even though he's having the time of his life.
Or: What happened while Will was "alone" in the upstairs office...

Summary
“Best friend,” Will scoffs, suddenly finding this entire thing hilarious. It's funny, so he laughs, ignoring the way it finally makes Mike flinch back, finally makes him look unsure of himself. “That's funny, Mike. You're funny.”
“You're avoiding the question,” Mike says quietly, seeming to all at once remember where they are, the fact that they're surrounded by their friends and family.
“Believe it or not, Mike,” Will mutters, his lips wobbling as he forces himself not to cry. “I don't have to answer to you.”
Or: Some of the truth comes out.

Summary
“Where the hell-”
“Jesusfucking Christ!”
“-have you been?” A voice demands, tone cold and hard. Will spins so fast his wet sneakers slip out from under him, his back slamming into the door with a clatter of the blinds that cover the little window. A lamp flares to life in the corner of the room, the one next to his couch, revealing Joyce Byers in her glorious rage, seated on the cushions with his blanket wrapped over her shoulders, her face red and wet with tears. Oh, god, he thinks. Oh, no.
Or: Will Byers faces some consequences for sneaking off to see Henry. Joyce Byers is just glad her son is alive, at this point.
A sort of fix-it within this universe for the fuckass coming out scene of Season 5.
