Я тихо выругался. Пришлось открыть глаза и, вернув ногу на тропу, отряхнуть штанину. Перчатки я, конечно же, оставил дома — снег, попав на обнажённые пальцы тут же превратился в ледяную воду. Щёки обожгло холодом вслед за руками, и я только теперь понял, как же холодно на улице. Я огляделся по сторонам и снова почувствовал нелепый детский страх — вдруг показалось, что темнота смотрит на меня. С интересом так смотрит, изучает, оценивает.
