Summary
Eight years ago, a massive explosion destroyed a South American medical laboratory and triggered an apocalyptic collapse as unfinished biomedical machines called nanites mass replicated, spreading across the earth on the artic winds until they infected every living being on the planet. At first, it was regarded as a tragic accident. As a week went by and livestock began to mutate into strange, dangerous creatures, The Event then came to be known as the worst act of biomedical terrorism in human history.
Unfortunately for everyone, nanites, given the right circumstances, could trigger mutations in humans as well.
While the worst instability of the initial apocalypse has passed, humanity now lives under an unknown countdown, as anyone at any time could turn into an Extrovarieted Organism- or EVO, for short. Dangerous, unpredictable mutants capable of destroying cities, toppling ecosystems, and performing terrible miracles unseen by humanity before.
To date, there has only been one verified method of curing an EVO. It's a secret of international proportions, closely guarded by the military organization Providence and a UN committee.
It also happens to be a teenage girl.
