Summary
This is my version of Catching Fire, where Katniss and Peeta are emotionally close. It diverges from canon but not completely. Many of the elements from the original are present but out of order. This is the second work in the Thanking the Boy With the Bread series.

Summary
This is a snippet from my version of Mockingjay, where Katniss and Peeta already had a close emotional bond/romantic relationship pre-games. Peeta still gets hijacked, but it takes a little differently because he had so many uncorrupted memories of Katniss and their time together in District 12. This is just a scene that I wanted to write, where Katniss couldn’t stay away. I think it will eventually be incorporated into the finished work, when I get around to finishing it.

Summary
I obviously love the original Hunger games and Katniss’s character. But this version makes quite a few alterations to the story and Katniss herself, most notably an emotional closeness with Peeta that stems from a key change: she was able to thank him for the bread. That moment opened a door, not just to gratitude, but to a quiet, steady bond that grew over the years. In Peeta, she found more than support, she found a glimpse of something beyond survival; a life where she could feel safe, seen, even hopeful.
