Another soul dies in the aftermath of the Hero and Demon Lord’s actions under very particular circumstances, and D decides to reincarnate him as the weakest monster within the System.
Reincarnated as a slime in the Great Elroe Labyrinth, Daha starts at the bottom of a world that defines strength through violence. He is weak, naive, and completely unsuited to how the System expects people to survive.
What he does have is a desire to improve, a habit of questioning the world around him, and an insistence on helping lives where he can. Those small choices don’t look important at first. But they compound into a completely different ending—and in doing so, he answers what it means to be a hero in this cruel world.
This fic explores Kumo Desu’s world beyond the paths canon lingered on, including the System’s mechanics, the wider world it shapes, and the gods who stand behind it. Divergence accumulates slowly, through changes in people, priorities, and outcomes, toward a very different end.
The end is never set in stone.
