Summary
Princess Ninya, the sole heir to the crown, was exceptional in several ways. The most notable, perhaps, was that since birth, by her father's orders, she had received a prince's upbringing. She was a girl, yet she was treated like a boy would be. That's also why she had whipping boy. Princesses didn't typically get corporal punishment, but since she was basically, a prince, she did.
When Ninya turned eighteen, she was considered of age. Ola was still her appointed companion, but nobody considered that she would be whipped anymore, and she hadn't been, in a quite a while. The King wanted to have her stop from attending the lessons, but Ninya insisted so hard, that he let her continue.
One day they were laying on the grass in the royal garden, leaning onto a tree and on each other and reading in silence.
