Vashlani had gone to the College of Winterhold to learn more of magic, to fulfill his Master's last wish.
Several months and several mishaps later, he's approached by a fellow student, one insisting he found the spell to open a pocket dimension. Before Vashlani could stop him he started his incantation. Only it didn't quite turn out right.
