"I can give you your wings, no problem. All you need to do is give me your permission." And- well that was just silly, wasn't it? Tubbo hadn't needed to 'give permission' for his wish, but maybe it was different with bodily modifications.
"I..give you permission to fix my wings?" It sounded like a question, even to him, and the God simply tsked.
"No, not like that. Sound confident Philza. Repeat after me, I give you permission to make my wings." It sounded like a parent teaching their child a repeated lesson, annoyance in Its voice but also...excitement?
Despite the strange vibes, Phil did as told.
"I give you permission to make my wings."

Perhaps he should've known it was too good to be true.
Or I have a HC that Philza wasn't born with wings, they were gifted by Kristin so that he could officially be her Angel, and thus she could send commands to him no matter where he is in the vast worlds. The eye sees this and decides to use Phil's current wing situation to his advantage.
