Summary
Warlocks have turned humans against dragonkind, resulting in their slaughter and subsequent barriers blocking entry into the dragonkind realm, leaving many trapped with the humans. Rey is a dragonkind orphan in the human territory who gets captured by a warlock who is determined to destroy the dragonkind in a quest for power. While he leads a powerful army, his most powerful asset is the dragon he keeps as a pet. Sensing Rey's great power, the warlock keeps her alive to be a broodmare for his dragon, hoping to create unstoppable offspring. Gentle, kind, and misguided, Rey and the dragon form a bond and a determination to break free of their chains.
