Summary
From nothing, a burst of consciousness. Its fingers twitch slightly, while its eyes remain shut. It’s attempting to move. Not with any kind of purpose, or even thought; but, rather, the same kind of mindless urge to do something, anything, that comes with any freshly born being.
Gradually, its mind begins to wake. It can’t move its limbs, still–only able to vaguely suggest small movements of its fingers, corners of its mouth and eyelids–but it has begun processing its environment.
Encased. It’s encased, both in some sort of small space, and in a fluid that, in its heightened state of lucidity, it can sense being absorbed into its flesh.
With this awareness, it feels its first emotion. Fear. It wants out. It needs to be let out. The enclosed space isn’t comforting, it’s suffocating. Something deep within this being wants to move, spread its arms and legs, feel the fresh air of the surface. It longs for something it feels like it knows, but that feels completely alien to it all the same.Fic featuring my spin on an in-universe take of 2017x!
