   “What truth?” Vegas said, his voice dangerously low, a warning in itself.
   Macau continued the heated moment, shouting back in anger, “That he–”

   Pete's chest heaved, his breath ragged. "I—I'm not your pet, Vegas," he spat, trying to shove him off. "I never was."
   Vegas clicked his tongue, shaking his head. "That’s where you’re wrong," he mused, leaning down until their noses almost touched.

   A tangled web of deceit spun by Vegas, leaving everybody questioning their own reality. Was Pete ever truly there, or was it all just a fabrication in his mind?
