Summary
Alina, an engineer aboard the Acheron, finds herself caught in a deadly struggle as the ship becomes infected by a powerful alien artifact. After the artifact is discovered, it begins to warp and control the crew, turning them into grotesque, mindless creatures. Alina, alongside Royce, a soldier with a troubled past, must navigate the now-ruined ship, battling both the artifact's influence and their own personal demons.
As they journey deeper into the ship, they uncover horrifying truths about the artifact's nature—it’s not just a weapon, but a sentient entity capable of controlling minds and warping reality. They also face moral dilemmas, especially when Lieutenant Sharpe, once an ally, reveals that she’s been consumed by the artifact and now serves its will. Her betrayal forces Alina and Royce to decide whether to destroy the Acheron and escape or confront the artifact head-on in an attempt to end its threat for good.
Along the way, Alina and Royce's bond deepens, with Alina learning to trust Royce despite his guilt over past decisions and Royce opening up about his vulnerabilities. The artifact, however, continues to manipulate them, manifesting their deepest fears and regrets through hallucinations
