This is it.
He’s going to say it.

The words hang in the air. Silence follows, thick, deafening.
Then, a sudden clatter breaks it.
“Oh— s-sorry!”
Will startles, turning toward the door. Mike is standing there, eyes wide, face flushed in panic. A metal water bottle rolls to a stop near his feet.
“I—I didn’t mean to interrupt,” Mike stammers. “I didn’t know you were— I’ll just—” He bends down quickly, fumbling as he grabs the bottle. “I was just told we need to go in, like, fifteen. So, uh… yeah. I’ll go now. See you.”
As the door closes behind him, Will stays frozen.
He heard me.

Summary
It's been several weeks since Vecna went M.I.A and Mike's breakup with Eleven. Hawkins is slowly adjusting to its life in quarantine and things in the Wheeler/ Byers house are.... settling. Or as much as they can be with two families under one roof. Mike, however, is anything but settled. Painfully aware of the rift between himself and his best friend, Mike has decided to focus all of his energies into fixing their friendship. If only he could understand what drove a wedge between them in the first place. And for fucks sake----Could Will just show him what he's always drawing, already?
