I’m just tidying up the last loose ends now.” Magnus adjusts the position of his fingers and Sanguinius makes a soft noise. “I had to strip out a lot more cognitive capacity than we wanted to get him to stop fighting. Even with the relevant memories blocked, he kept figuring out something wasn’t adding up. There’s not much of his will left, either. Too risky.”
“I see.” It aches, a little. He’d hoped to preserve Sanguinius at his best, but that was always a long shot. “He’s happy, though?”
“Oh, yes,” Magnus murmurs. “Very happy.”

Horus loves Sanguinius. He wants to keep him alive and he wants to keep him happy.
If that means taking him prisoner over Terra, dragging him back to the Eye of Terror, modifying him to give him a pussy, and having his mind psychically adjusted to make him okay with all of that, well, that’s fine by him.
