Summary
Five months after the conclusion of the events in Twelve Kings of Yore, Yelena Fedorova is in a holding pattern, on a picturesque Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda, awaiting the appearance of the two runaway UralPharma board members. Irwine had become augmented, following his injury, and is in the process of adapting to it and his new abilities. And Jamella Couture will learn the hard way, that field operations carry with them unexpected challenges and traumas. Through it all, Yelena's quest for vengeance continues unabated... and she will learn to separate it, from the image she wants to present, to those she cares about.

Summary
The story continues, directly following the events of Fire and Ice, separated by just over a year. The timeline is about a month after the conclusion of the game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, but the story also references events and organisations from the original Deus Ex, and expands on the lore connecting the original game with it's two modern prequels. Yelena continues to struggle in regaining a measure of her lost humanity, not helped by the fact that there is no escaping the ongoing shadow-war, and that her abilities and skillset will always make her a part of it. Meanwhile, Irwine realises that getting involved deeper, means leaving his old life completely behind... lest those he cares about become caught in the middle.
EDIT: Adjusted the time passed from previous work, to account for the in-universe time passed between Human Revolution and Mankind Divided.
