Summary
Reality wasn't ever easy on him. Mikage Reo just never accepted it. He always had trouble acknowledging defeat, treating reality never as a fixed state but as a negotiable contract. Embracing defeat was a foreign language to him, one he refused to learn. That singular characteristic had made up his morals, his beliefs, and his identity.
It was what defined him. What made him Reo Mikage.

Summary
Nagi Seishiro has a dull life.
No, it wasn't the same as boring - a word that the majority of people would usually refer to when describing their lives. He believes that 'dull' has a whole entire different meaning than just simple 'boredom.'
'Boring' implied a weariness born of too much feeling, the quiet that comes after the storm. Boredom was a kind of fatigue. the echo of a heart that had raced, of blood that had pulsed hot and swift through the veins. The feeling of despair, loneliness, a heart aching pain, and the feeling of pure ecstasy, joy, freedom, all those kinds of sensations. They would have to been through those feelings before arriving at boredom, a quiet, tired feeling that would exit as another came.. One had to have lived deeply to become bored.
Dullness was something else entirely. Dullness was emptiness. A void not filled with the aftermath of feeling but with its utter absence. It was a life untouched by anything that could make the heart clench—in anguish or in rapture. A flatline.
