   Summary

   19 year old Paulo is a "pet" (pet whump universe) who is abandoned on a rural road and taken in by a local community. They are tightly connected by a small church they attend, Lawrenceville Baptist. One of the families, the Sullivans, take Paulo in. Here he meets their two sons, Jesse and Peter, and their friend Samson.
