“Peter gave you this,” he muttered under his breath.
Silence.
“What did you just say?” Her voice cracked at the end. Her heart immediately sped up.
Ned kept looking at the necklace, holding it like it was something precious. That was weird, but that wasn’t the thing that she was hung up on.
“Peter? Who is Peter?”
He didn’t respond.
“Ned—who is Peter?” She forced herself up and put a hand on his shoulder. The contact made him jolt.
