Summary
The moment Zuko lept in front of lightning to save Katara’s life, everything changed.
In that moment, Katara felt the world shift. Not from Zuko’s act, but from something far greater. As the ripping energy tore into Zuko’s body, somewhere far in a battle against Ozai, Avatar Aang fell. And as Aang left the world, during that same moment death struck Zuko, the entire world felt it.
Zuko awakened from deaths grasp a different man. A man of well spun lies and treachery that somehow convinced his murderous, unforgiving sister to allow him a position by her side. Ruling the fire nation, and very soon, the world.
Katara has been a fire nation prisoner for two years, and knows not why Azula bothered to keep her alive. Never seeing the light of day, taunted and tortured with her brothers death, her friends sacrifice, and the boy who had betrayed her.
But when FireLord Azula gives Katara a task she can’t refuse on pain of death, putting her in close quarters with Zuko who she now hates above all else, Katara is forced to confront the world without the Avatar.
A world where the line between hate and love is thin as a trickle of water.

Summary
Ten years ago, Avatar Aang died, and the world fell with him.
In the war’s final moments, Zuko threw himself into Azula’s lightning to save Katara, only to be cast into the sea and left for dead. Katara was captured, her memories erased through dark spiritual techniques, and turned into Firelord Azula’s deadliest weapon. Now a master bloodbender, Katara kills without question, loyal only to the empire that destroyed her.
Now, the world burns.
But Zuko survived.
Saved by Aang’s fading spirit and given a final command—save the world—Zuko leads the last rebel stronghold from behind the walls of Ba Sing Se. Alongside Sokka and Uncle Iroh, he prepares to reclaim what was lost. When the broken body of Toph Beifong is returned with a chilling message—surrender—Zuko realizes he can wait no longer.
He must return to the Fire Nation, not for revenge, but for redemption.
