Summary
The first time Agatha saw her, she was stepping over her mother’s corpse.
The moment was brief, but Agatha recognized her instantly. She felt a dull sting in the palm of her hand; her mark was burning. It wasn’t a wholly unpleasant sensation, if she was being honest with herself.
Her mark – the thing that bound every witch in Salem from birth. The mark that was supposed to shine with an angelic, golden light. The mark that, in her case, was pitch black.
OR: Every witch in Salem is born with a mark. From the moment she is born, Agatha Harkness knows her mark means that she is bound to the Angel of Death. It's only after she allows herself to revel in that power, that she realizes how much fun being bound to such a creature can be.

Rio straightened, refusing to get flustered under the woman’s heavy gaze.
“I’ve received some complaints about the way you’re using our library computers.”
The woman’s mouth curved into a slow grin. “Don’t tell me I’m in trouble, officer. Was I typing too loud?”
OR: Rio Vidal is a tightly wound librarian who teaches Digital Literacy classes at the Westview library every Friday. Agatha is a flirty Etsy witch who decides to kill two birds with one stone: one, use the library computers to run her business-slash-scam, ensuring her IP can't be traced. And two, do everything in her power to get the hot, uptight librarian to unwind a little.

“In exchange for your insolence, I will take one of your own with me, to satiate my hunger. Then, I will consider holding up my end of the deal again, as long as you keep up yours. So.” Rio’s voice dripped with practiced malice. “Who will it be?”
She looked at the crowd expectantly. There was some shuffling, some whispers, but no one came forward.
“No one brave amongst you?” She paused, letting the moment linger. “Fine. I’ll make you a deal. I’ll spare you, out of the kindness of my heart. But if anyone dares to disturb my peace ever again–”
“I’ll come with you.”
OR: Rio Vidal is a reclusive vampire who wants nothing more than to be left alone with her plants. When one of her schemes goes wrong, she gets stuck with Agatha Harkness, a human apparently hellbent on pressing all of Rio's buttons. The worst part? After over a century of drinking animal blood, Rio suddenly finds herself hungry for something else again.

Still, Agatha knew how to bewitch an audience. And Rio would admit that for the first few weeks of playing on a stage together, she definitely felt bewitched.
It didn’t take long for their audience to notice, either. While Agatha was taking a different girl home every night after a show, all the tabloids could write about were the charged looks Agatha and Rio shared on stage, or the photographs of them together where they were standing a little too close to just be friendly.
Rio hated it. Agatha thought it was the funniest thing in the world.
OR: Drummer Rio Vidal joined the rock band The Coven a few years ago. She's been trying desperately to ignore the simmering tension between her and their lead singer Agatha Harkness. It's all going fine, until she walks in on Agatha getting fucked in their dressing room.

When the door fully swung open, Agatha paused. The woman standing in the doorway wasn’t Lilia.
“I should start opening my door to salesmen more often if this is how they dress now. Though I have to say, that’s the weirdest sales pitch I’ve heard in a long time.”
OR: Agatha's bunny keeps escaping to her neighbor Lilia's yard. Rio, who is housesitting for Lilia, enjoys her new furry companion. Agatha, on the other hand, hates her new neighbor with a fiery passion. Until she doesn't.
