Summary
“Really? Then what did happen?” She threw it back at him. “You wanted to play house with a woman who lies to your face for a living.”
“At least I know you’re lying right now!” He was shaking now, looking at her in a way which he hadn’t in a long long while as her expression flickered. Just slightly.
“Oh, fuck you.”
“No, Ada, fuck you!” His voice finally rose properly, failing to keep the lid on it. “You don’t get to stand there and act like I forced this on you when you kept coming back. Every. Single. Time.”
Or the one where Ada and Leon eventually figure it out but not before hurting each other in the process.

Summary
“Who are you?” She could barely hear her own words as he gave her a gentle smile, the one which reminded her of 1998 when he had saved her and refused to let her go alone. But it was somehow more affectionate if it was even possible.
No, Leon did not look at her like that. Not anymore.
“You know who I am, Ada. I am just not from around here…” he shook his head, trying his best to explain himself.
Or, after a job leaves Ada injured, she runs into Leon in the middle of nowhere, except this version of him is nothing like the man she remembers from Spain.

Summary
“Don’t you have something better to do?”
“Better than being near you? Nope.” He lowers his head onto her leg then, settling there with a soft, deliberate weight. One arm drapes loosely over her shin, holding her in place like she might otherwise escape him. Leon knows he’s being clingy but after spending years where he barely got to hold her till the wee hours of morning, because she would somehow slip by in the dark, and he wouldn’t have any idea when he would see her next time, he thinks he has earned this much.
A glimpse into Ada and Leon's married life as they navigate this new reality, told by the series of fragmented moments over time.

Summary
The sound of the rain is deafening as she remains transfixed on him, watching him watch her and right here in such close vicinity, she realises, she feels anxious to have all his attention on her. There is just too little space and just…she doesn’t know what this is and once again she finds herself breaking the silence.
“And what is it you are thinking right now, Mr. Kennedy?”
His eyes lingers on the bridge of her nose and down her cupid bow when she hears the rolling of the car through the now green light, registering his voice just slightly over the hum of the engine.
“Nothing you’d wanna know, trust me.”
Or in which a brilliant guarded student finds herself drawn to an emotionally restrained professor.
