When Melissa transferred to Wiskayok High, the plan had seemed pretty simple: get in, reconnect with Gen, keep her head down, and get out. Just fly under the radar and under absolutely no circumstances do anything that would get herself noticed by the wider student-body, because the last time that had happened it had been a literal fucking nightmare. Evidently however, she’d already messed that up, because one late-September lunch period she’d been minding her business eating a sandwich alone only to look up and find a pair of deep brown eyes staring at her from across the table.
