Summary
Alyxandra Tavis is one of the marked children, branded by the Apostasy, and bound by a bargain she never agreed to.
Unlike the others, she doesn’t view Xaden Riorson’s deal with General Sorrengail as salvation—it’s still a death sentence. A delay of the inevitable.
To Lyxa, survival came at too high a cost. If she and the other marked children had died with their parents, the resistance might have lived on. They might have been remembered as martyrs for change, instead of traitors to the regime.

I glance over at Tairn, whose eyes are fixed solely on me. “Tairneanach.”
She nods, slowly, taking her time to write the name in the book carefully, before I step down from the dais. I give Violet a nod, before pausing at the base of the stares as she too is beckoned up.
“Violet Sorrengail,” the redhead smiles. “Nice to see you made it. For the records please tell me the name of the dragon of the dragon that chose you.”
