“Does it still hurt?”, came Shouto’s deep, soft voice and broke the silence between them.
“No. Recovery Girl did a good job.”, Mizuki replied and ran her fingers absentmindedly over her arm.
“That’s good.”
“Yeah.”, she breathed and met his gaze. “We kind of match now.”
She held up her arm with a smile and pointed towards his face. For a second, Shouto watched her with a bewildered look and Mizuki suddenly felt very stupid for voicing her impromptu thoughts out loud.
Then, something like a snort escaped him. Almost like an actual laugh. The corners of his mouth twitched upwards into a small smile and his eyes danced with amusement. He looked so different, she couldn’t help it.
Mizuki stared.
And her stomach did a weird flip, not unpleasant but unfamiliar.

She didn't expect to find villains and past ghosts on the doorstep, to find new and revive old friendships and to accidentally fall in love along the way.

The inside of the car went quiet as he stopped at another red light and around them, the blur of city lights in the dark night cleared into solid images again.
The low hum of the engine and the distant soft music from the radio filled the silence that stretched mercilessly between them. Ei had stopped eating and Katsuki felt his curious gaze pierce into his soul, like daggers, aiming straight for where they caused the most damage. But he ignored the heat rising in his own face to watch his childhood rival closely.
How his brows furrowed and his nose crinkled in concentration, making his freckles dance.
How his face morphed into an unreadable expression and maybe, hopefully, wheels started to turn underneath that green mob of curls.
“What does that mean, Kacchan?”
“S’ what I said. If you don’t understand, figure it out.”
Preferably tonight, given the chance.
