Summary
Hongjoong is all too familiar with the desire for revenge. Having been torn from the only home he’d ever known as a child, thrown into a system in which his kind is viewed as less than—tools to keep the population afloat and nothing more—that longing has lived inside him for as long as he can remember.
After escaping the system and spending years on the run, forming his own ragtag pack over time, that desire finally crests. The annual masquerade ball is the perfect chance to sneak inside the castle and put an end to the reign that’s brought upon so much suffering, and Hongjoong doesn’t intend to be stopped.
Not by fear, not by his own biology, and certainly not by the reappearance of an old friend he thought had forgotten about him.
