Summary
Several months after the tragic events during the Beating the Bounds march, Kieren Walker’s second life is beginning to look up.
He is moving into the bungalow with Simon, the Victus initiated Roarton Protection Service has now been virtually disbanded, his sister Jem has a new boyfriend who was not in the Human Volunteer Force during The Rising, and no more incidents involving Blue Oblivion high rabids or attacks by the Undead Liberation Army have occurred.
