Summary
Lame name, I know. I posted this here on A03 as a Veteran's Day fic. My family lost our last veteran this past February and I really wanted to show my appreciation. Anyway, the summary is:
Ranma and the weather never got along but what during their run to the Chinese Coast it was even worse than in canon? What if he, his father, and their pursuer were all forced to seek cover in he same shelter? Female Ranma and Shampoo, forced to put aside their issues, spend several days in a cave, getting to know one another, and even becoming friends (sorta) before his father wakes up and messes everything up.
Later on, Ranma's time in Nerima is influenced by this event more than a bit, and then Shampoo arrives. Shampoo's arrival goes differently, and suddenly Ranma decides that leaving Nerima sounds like a great idea now that he's got a traveling buddy he actually likes. Together the two set out to explore the wider world of martial arts, discovering new techniques, new foes, and a lot of challenges as they go.
Pairing is Ranma/Shampoo/Mai, although she joins later on.
