“I cannot let you go back to your room, Harry. You will never leave my side again, as long as we both shall live, you will be where I can see you.” Voldemort says.
Harry stares at him. “Okay.”
“What? No smart comeback?” Voldemort asks.
“I f*cking hate you, is that what you want? But I don’t want to leave this room.” Harry says. “You make my skin crawl, you’re grotesque, evil, vile, I cannot stand you, but I can’t leave you because I’ll come right f*cking back, some way, somehow, I will.”
Voldemort takes a seat on the edge of the bed. “I despise you, Potter.” He reaches out and touches one of Harry’s stitched cuts. It stings and Harry groans. “You will sleep here, in this bed. When you are well, you will go where I go and see what I see and we shall never separate.”

Summary
It seems laughable now to think that he could ever have been destined for more than this. From a boy so lucky to be alive they gave him a lofty title to match, to the supposed savior of humanity, to tawdry spoils of the very war he lost. It is a new kind of bravery Harry must hold onto these days, if he is to get through this with any of his sanity or self-respect left intact.
He won't just give up on living though, on hope. Somebody has to be here, after all, to take care of the girl, so if not for himself, then he'll at least do it for her. He can suffer any indignity thrown his way if it means that just one child born into this endless, bitter cycle of longing and loathing will grow up loved.
Sometimes, a ray of sunshine will break through the storm clouds even when it's always raining.

Summary

“Um, I really like him too,” you reply quickly. “I do. I wouldn’t let just anyone do to me what...what he was doing.” Immediately after the words leave your mouth you wish you could yank them back in. You’re blushing furiously but the car is dark, so hopefully you’re the only one who notices.
You catch Steve’s half-smile in the passing streetlights. “It’s alright. Peter’s a good kid, I trust him.” Which isn’t really what you were saying, but then his next words are, “You’re a beautiful girl, sweetheart. Stunning, really.” His eyes travel down your body, just once. “Pete’s a lucky boy. If Bucky and I were closer to your age, we’d both be fighting him for your attention.”
