Summary
Steve felt sick.
He remembered this… thing that happened when he was a kid.When his grandpa died (His favorite grandpa!), he insisted on going to the funeral. He remembered his parents barely cared to convince him otherwise. At the time, he had been focusing so hard on holding the tears that he didn’t even notice, so he kept insisting anyway.
He remembers looking around, sniffing, when the casket was being lowered to the ground. And then he saw his grandpa, standing away from the family, leaning on someone else’s grave and smiling warmly at him.
That was the first time he saw anything — any ghosts, spirits, dead people or whatever you’d rather call it. Since then, he also learned that not all of them were as nice, though.

Steve and Eddie try to go back to actually living after the last incident with the Upside Down, but Hawkins was split in four, there’s a military ensued quarantine and Steve is trying to deal with the loss of a childhood friend while reconnecting with another. Eddie is also still hiding from those crazy religious people. Things are complicated. There are also ghosts.
